Prior to Expo West, I asked readers what types of products they were interested in me looking for and sharing on Little Family Adventure. Two of the things they wanted were gluten free and quick convenience style foods; meal kits, snacks, etc. I’d like to introduce you to Jack’s Paleo Kitchen cookies. I’m thrilled to be partnering with them to bring you this cookie giveaway.
Jack’s Paleo Kitchen
While in Anaheim, I met Josh, co-owner of Jack’s Paleo Kitchen. He was at the Palm Done Right booth providing samples of his Nut Free Trail Mix Bites. We started talking about his company and gluten free foods in general. I will admit that I was hesitate to try his cookies and I told him so. I actually made a joke that some of the cardboard packaging tasted better than other gluten free/paleo cookies I’d tried in the past. That’s when Josh told me his story about being gluten intolerant and how he and his wife developed their cookie recipe to avoid that stereotypical image. He urged me to give his recipe a try. Long story short…….. WOW!!!
Loved These Paleo Cookies
The cookie recipe Josh developed for Jack’s Paleo Kitchen is delicious. That Trail Mix Bite was soft and oh so good. Each bite has everything I could want in a trail mix, but without the gluten and nuts. His paleo cookies are allergy friendly (which was a trend I saw a lot of at Expo West), nut-free except for the coconut, grain free, dairy-free, egg-free, no refined sugars, soy-free, and non-GMO.
Although there were other allergy friendly snacks at expo, I didn’t find any allergy friendly snack as good as these. I brought home a sample or the Snickerdoodles and my kids quickly devoured them the same day.
I’m excited to bring you this giveaway ahead of Celiac Awareness Month. The month of May, in the United States, is aimed at raising awareness about celiac disease and gluten sensitivity.
What Is Celiac Disease?
According to whathealth.com, Celiac disease is a genetic autoimmune disease which damages the small intestine. When the small intestine is damaged, the rate of nutrient absorption from food is reduced. Celiac disease can affect people in many different ways and symptoms vary in severity. People with celiac disease are sensitive to gluten which triggers these symptoms.
Many Aren’t Aware They Are Gluten Sensitive
In the United States, approximately 3 million people have Celiac disease and 18 million are sensitive to gluten. Of these 21 million people, only 5% know they have it. This awareness event aims, in part, to make more people aware that they may have this disease and that by eating gluten free foods, they can eliminate their symptoms.
In the past few years, more people are finding themselves to be gluten intolerant and some have several people I know have been diagnosed with Celiac disease. So, I’m pleased to introduce you to Jack’s Paleo Kitchen foods. You are going to love their cookies. Find them at jackfrancisfoods.com.
